Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club Launches World’s First Hybrid Showjumping Arena

Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC) has achieved a groundbreaking milestone by becoming the world’s first hybrid showjumping arena, a recognition bestowed by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI). This distinction not only leaps the UAE's position as the global leader in the equestrian field but also showcases the innovative vision behind the club's development.

The creation of this hybrid arena signifies a major leap in equestrian sport, providing a venue that caters to the demands of both riders and horses throughout the year. The arena, which marries the traditional beauty of Arab architecture with modern equestrian needs, was introduced during the 2024-2025 season.

It hosted a series of prestigious events, including the Abu Dhabi International Show Jumping Event CSI4*-W and the UAE President's Cup Show Jumping CSI5* (2025 Edition), both of which were organized in collaboration with the UAE Equestrian and Racing Federation (UAEERF).

The efforts of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who chairs ADEC, have been paramount in reaching this milestone. His dedication to propelling the equestrian sport forward in the UAE has been unwavering, providing essential resources and support to elevate the country's standing in the international arena.

This commitment was further highlighted by Eng. Ali Al Shaiba, Director General of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, who stated, "This is a proud moment; this recognition marks a historic milestone for equestrian sport in the UAE. It is a reflection of our leadership's vision and a testament to the nation's commitment to excellence across all disciplines."

The hybrid arena has also enabled ADEC to extend its event calendar, offering flexibility to organize and host showjumping events throughout the year, irrespective of season. This capability enhances Abu Dhabi’s appeal as a premier destination for equestrian sports, allowing it to attract high-caliber competitions and participants from around the globe.

In January 2025, ADEC further showcased its exceptional facility by hosting three additional international competitions: the 12th FBMA International Show Jumping Cup CSI2*, Al Shira'aa International Horse Show CSI3*, and Al Shira'aa International Horse Show CSI4*-W. These events underscored the hybrid arena's role in promoting Abu Dhabi as a central hub for equestrian excellence.

With this latest accomplishment, Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club is set to broaden its international presence. The club is preparing a new calendar filled with international events for the upcoming season. This initiative will welcome elite riders, horses, and equestrian stakeholders from around the world, further solidifying the UAE's reputation as a top-tier venue for equestrian sports.
