Tiger Woods Earns High Praise From Will Zalatoris Ahead Of The 88th Masters

Tiger Woods, the renowned golfer, has been receiving commendable feedback on his performance as he gears up for the 88th Masters at Augusta National. Despite undergoing ankle surgery in April of the previous year and participating in less than five-and-a-half competitive rounds since then, Woods's resilience and skill continue to shine through. His journey back to the green has been marked by challenges, including a withdrawal from last year's Masters during the third round and a recent withdrawal from the Genesis Invitational due to illness.

However, Woods's determination remains unshaken. In December's Hero World Challenge, he made a notable return, securing the 18th position among a 20-man field. This was followed by a setback during the Genesis Invitational in February when he had to withdraw after experiencing a back spasm that affected his performance. Despite these hurdles, Woods's achievements continue to inspire, having made a record-equalling 23rd consecutive cut in last year's Masters.

Woods Praised Before Masters

Will Zalatoris, who had the opportunity to play alongside Woods during a nine-hole practice session, expressed his admiration for Woods's enduring prowess. Zalatoris highlighted Woods's exceptional career and his ability to impress even after overcoming significant health challenges. "It's just everything the guy has done...You could just sit there and analyse the same stats for his entire career and put him in five different buckets, and every one of them is never going to be broken," Zalatoris remarked.

Woods's performance during their practice session left a strong impression on Zalatoris, who noted that Woods managed to outdrive him on several occasions, leading to some friendly banter between the two. Zalatoris commended Woods for his great form and movement, considering the physical challenges he has faced. "He played great today...He looks great. He's moving as well as he can be. With everything he's gone through, it's pretty amazing to see how good he's swinging it," Zalatoris added.

As Woods prepares for this week's Masters with an eye on making history by achieving a 24th straight cut, his journey serves as a testament to his enduring spirit and exceptional talent. Despite setbacks and health issues, Woods continues to demonstrate that his skill and determination remain as strong as ever.
