At the BEYOND Expo 2025 in Macao last week, the UAE showcased its commitment to sustainability and innovation through the Zayed Sustainability Prize Forum. This event, a collaboration between the UAE's Zayed Sustainability Prize and the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation (SIEF), highlighted the UAE's role in promoting eco-friendly advancements on a global scale. The forum took place over four days, from May 21 to May 24, drawing attention to the nation's efforts in fostering international partnerships to address climate challenges.

The central theme of the forum, "Accelerating Impact: China's Innovation for Global Sustainability," facilitated discussions among world leaders and innovators on leveraging technology, capital, and leadership to tackle environmental problems. Through various formats such as TEDx-style talks and panel discussions, attendees examined strategies to scale sustainable solutions worldwide. This gathering underscored the UAE's commitment to using strategic investment and international cooperation to expedite progress in crucial areas like health, energy, education, and climate action.

The sessions at the forum reflected the Zayed Sustainability Prize's focus on collaborative efforts, youth involvement in climate initiatives, and equitable growth. His Excellency Sheikh Saoud Al Mualla, the UAE's Consul-General in Hong Kong, spoke about the multifaceted partnership between the UAE and China, which spans across various sectors including energy, logistics, and even space exploration.

He highlighted the significance of sustainable development within this partnership, citing joint ventures in solar and wind energy as key components of the UAE's transition to renewable energy sources.

"The UAE-China collaboration extends well beyond trade, encompassing key sectors such as energy, logistics, financial services, agriculture, tourism, and even space exploration. Notably, both nations share a strong and growing partnership in sustainable development. From pioneering solar power projects to innovative wind energy demonstrations, Chinese support has played a vital role in the UAE's impressive journey toward a clean energy future," Al Mualla explained.

Dr. Gang Lu, Co-Founder of BEYOND Expo, also emphasized the collaborative ethos of the event, stating, "The partnership with the Zayed Foundation Association embodies the spirit of collaboration and humanitarian impact that BEYOND Expo strives to foster. BEYOND Expo 2025 marked its fifth anniversary by attracting more than 25,000 visitors, including over 800 innovative companies and 800 investors to The Venetian® Macao's Cotai Expo. The expo's opening ceremony spotlighted Asia's tech leaders, emphasizing the event's aim to empower Asia and connect the world. Additionally, the launch of the BEYOND Founders Club, a network of 30 elite entrepreneurs focused on sustainable innovation, highlighted the expo's dedication to fostering environmental advancements in Asia.
