Wine Country Inn Enhances Guest Experience With High-End EV Charging Stations

Eco-conscious travelers heading to Colorado's Wine Country have a new reason to celebrate as the Wine Country Inn introduces cutting-edge electric vehicle (EV) charging facilities. This 80-room boutique hotel in Palisade has recently launched two 40amp 240volt dual port EV charging stations, enhancing the convenience for guests with Plug-in Hybrid or All-Electric vehicles. Officially starting service in late April, these stations are equipped with XCP Corporation cashless Level 2 dual hookups, capable of charging up to four vehicles simultaneously in one-hour increments for a maximum of four hours.

This development is particularly beneficial for a wide range of electric vehicle models, including Tesla cars that require a brand-specific adaptor. Ian Kelley, the General Manager at Wine Country Inn, emphasized the significance of this addition. "This facility not only broadens the spectrum of models we can accommodate but also significantly reduces charging time, offering major convenience to our guests," Kelley stated. He highlighted how guests could utilize their time efficiently by charging their vehicles while enjoying various hotel amenities.

New EV Stations at Wine Country Inn

The installation of these EV charging stations was not without its challenges, including supply chain delays and high demand for installation services. The project came to fruition after consultation with David Miller, Senior Vice President at Alpine Bank. Miller has been at the forefront of promoting clean energy consumption through the bank's Green Team initiatives over the past two decades. Alpine Bank also contributes to environmental sustainability by publishing an annual Environment Report and offering eco-friendly services to its customers.

Kelley acknowledged the significant investment required for this initiative but was convinced by the growing demand for EV charging facilities and the incentives provided by the State of Colorado. "It's a major capital investment, but we're convinced that demand will only increase from here," Kelley explained. He also expressed the hotel's commitment to supporting cleaner energy consumption.

Among the first users of the new charging stations were David Miller, who charged his Chevy Bolt EV, and Saunders Collins, WCI Director of Sales, who used it for her Tesla. Kelley views these charging stations as an innovative step towards sustainable travel and is confident they will become a standard feature in the near future. "It's a no-brainer," he remarked, highlighting the inevitability of such sustainable practices becoming commonplace.

This initiative by Wine Country Inn not only enhances guest convenience but also aligns with broader environmental sustainability goals. By providing these state-of-the-art EV charging stations, the hotel is setting a precedent in hospitality services while encouraging eco-friendly travel solutions.
