WiBotic Unveils Revolutionary 1kW Wireless Charging For Mobile Robots At 2024 Automate Show
Next week marks a significant advancement in the field of robotics and wireless charging technology as WiBotic unveils its latest innovation—a 1kW (1000 Watt) wireless charging system—at the Automate Show in Chicago. This new platform is set to redefine the capabilities of mobile robots, offering enhanced range, flexibility, and reliability beyond traditional contact-based charging methods. WiBotic's introduction of the 1kW system employs resonant wireless charging technology, which operates at higher frequencies than conventional inductive charging, facilitating efficient power delivery over extended distances.
The innovative design of WiBotic's 1kW system eliminates the necessity for physical connections between the robot and charger. This advancement not only mitigates safety hazards associated with electrical shorts and fire risks from sparking but also caters to challenging environments where exposure to dirt, dust, water, or corrosion can interrupt charging cycles. The fully sealed components of the wireless power system make it an ideal solution for a broad spectrum of industries, including warehouse robotics, solar field inspection, agriculture, and mining. Furthermore, WiBotic is expanding its technological footprint to extraterrestrial applications, developing a variant of its system for lunar missions in collaboration with Astrobotic and NASA.

Complementing the 1kW wireless charging system is WiBotic's Commander software package, which enables users to monitor the charging status and battery health of robot fleets in real-time. This software facilitates proactive charging strategies that can significantly extend battery lifespan by adjusting charge current and voltage according to need. Peter King, Vice President of Cypher Robotics, Inc., highlighted the operational benefits of WiBotic's new platform, noting its ability to charge robots three times faster than previous models. This development opens up new possibilities for applications requiring quick and highly reliable charging solutions.
Ben Waters, CEO of WiBotic, expressed the company's commitment to meeting customer demands for more efficient charging solutions. "1kW wireless charging is the number one request we get from our customers," Waters stated. The new system maintains compatibility with all existing WiBotic hardware and offers full programmability through software, APIs, and the Commander platform for managing larger fleets.
WiBotic invites attendees of the Automate Show to witness a demonstration of the 1kW system at Booth #4087 near the ARM Demo Area from May 6th-9th. The company has begun accepting advance orders for the 1kW system, with deliveries expected this summer. For more information or to place an order, interested parties are encouraged to contact WiBotic Sales through the product inquiry form available on their website.
