VRCCO Celebrates Launch Of Advanced Veterinary Hospital And Food Truck Pavilion
The Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon (VRCCO) has officially opened its new emergency and specialty hospital, a facility that stands as a testament to VRCCO's commitment to providing top-tier healthcare and experiences for pets and their owners. This new hospital, now operational, is equipped with the most sophisticated veterinary care services in Central Oregon, available around the clock.
VRCCO's facility is not just any hospital; it is a comprehensive care center that includes a variety of specialties such as the Bone, Joint & Spine Center, surgery, internal medicine, oncology, dermatology, ophthalmology, neurology, and rehabilitation therapy. The hospital is designed with both pets and their owners in mind, featuring Central Oregon’s first pet-dedicated MRI machine and Vet Cadets, a certified childcare center for the staff and community members. This strategic design and the inclusion of advanced equipment underscore VRCCO's dedication to pushing veterinary medicine forward.

Adjacent to the main facility, VRCCO has introduced Ponch’s Place, a food truck pavilion and beer garden. This new addition serves as a communal space where people can enjoy local craft beverages and a selection of cuisine from four different food trucks: Carmelitas, Alley Dogz, Sweet Herb, and God of Pizza. Ponch’s Place aims to provide a welcoming atmosphere that extends beyond the hospital's walls.
In celebration of this significant milestone, VRCCO is hosting a grand opening party at Ponch’s Place on Saturday, April 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, hospital tours, musical entertainment, and special food truck samplings. Additionally, attendees can enjoy $1 off all GoodLife beers on tap, with proceeds going towards the VRCCO Care Fund. This fund offers financial assistance to pet parents in Central Oregon who are experiencing hardship.
VRCCO continues to operate its original location at 1820 NW Monterey Pines Drive in Bend as a dedicated Urgent Care Center. This center caters to non-critical urgent cases and maintains the high standards of care VRCCO is known for. It operates Monday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., ensuring that pets in Central Oregon have access to necessary care when they need it most.
With these two locations now serving the community, VRCCO is better positioned to meet the healthcare needs of pets in Central Oregon.
