Valerie Singleton OBE To Guide Summer Holiday Drivers In Europe With GEM Webinar
Valerie Singleton OBE is set to host the eagerly anticipated webinar 'Summer holiday driving in Europe', a free event scheduled for Tuesday, 16 April 2024, at 2 pm. This webinar, organized by GEM Motoring Assist in collaboration with the Older Drivers Forum, promises to be an insightful session for those interested in navigating the roads of Europe. Singleton, renowned for her extensive work with GEM and her contributions to the 'Still Safe to Drive' web resource, will be joined by a panel of experts, each bringing a unique perspective on European travel.
Rob Heard, who chairs the Older Drivers Forum, will co-host the event alongside Singleton. The webinar will feature discussions from Alan Wakely, a historian and writer for Good Motoring, who will delve into exploring northern France and its significant World War locations. Kevin and Tracey Field, known for their 'Confident Drivers' podcast, will offer advice on overcoming anxiety while driving abroad. Neil Barrett, a technology expert who embarked on an extensive tour of Europe in his electric vehicle (EV) in 2023, will share insights on the practicalities of EV touring and car hire abroad. Additionally, Keith Smith-Dutton, a GEM member and motorhome enthusiast, will provide tips on motorhome travel across the UK and Europe.
James Luckhurst, editor of Good Motoring, will contribute his expertise on driving in France and highlight some of Europe's most unusual traffic regulations. Valerie Singleton expressed her enthusiasm for driving abroad and shared her memorable journey through France, Italy, and Yugoslavia to Greece.
