Texas Steel Conversion Introduces Advanced Plastic Coating Facility For Oil And Gas Pipes
Texas Steel Conversion, Inc. (TSC), a prominent player in steel tubular processing and drill pipe manufacturing, has announced the installation of a new internal plastic coating (IPC) line at its Miller Road plant in Northeast Houston. This investment underscores TSC’s dedication to innovation and customer service in the oil and gas sector.
The IPC line is slated to be operational by early 2025. It aims to enhance the performance and longevity of pipes used in demanding drilling, completion, and transportation environments. Initially, the line will coat tubulars ranging from 2.375" to 12.750" in both Range 2 and Range 3.

The IPC line will utilize advanced technology to apply a uniform and durable powder coating throughout the internal diameter of the pipe. By integrating this process within its operations, TSC gains greater control over the coating schedule, thereby reducing operational interruptions for customers.
This strategic move also allows TSC to maintain stringent quality standards. The new process will enable customers to select a specialized IPC product capable of withstanding modern drilling fluid requirements, thereby improving flow rate and productivity.
Texas Steel Conversion (TSC) is a Houston-based company that has been manufacturing and processing high-quality steel tubular products for the oil and gas industry for over 48 years. The company focuses on quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
