Suzuki To Launch Fourth-Generation Swift Hybrid In UK And Ireland By April 2024
Suzuki Motor Corporation is set to launch the all-new Swift Concept in the UK and Republic of Ireland come April 2024, marking the debut of its fourth-generation compact supermini. This latest iteration boasts a slew of enhancements including a revamped exterior and interior design, superior performance metrics, reduced CO2 emissions, and an improved fuel economy. At the heart of these advancements is the introduction of a new Z12E 1.2-liter Mild Hybrid three-cylinder engine, promising up to an 8% increase in fuel efficiency over its predecessor.
The Swift sets a new benchmark in its category with class-leading combined fuel consumption figures. Specifically, the Motion model with manual transmission impresses with CO2 emissions standing at just 99g/km and a combined fuel consumption rate of 64.2mpg. Suzuki offers the Swift in two distinct grade options: Motion and Ultra, each equipped with a range of high-specification features. The Motion grade includes LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, and connectivity options such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among others. The Ultra grade further enhances the offering with additions like automatic air conditioning and electric folding door mirrors.

Manufactured in Japan for markets including the UK, Ireland, and the rest of Europe, the new Swift is built on Suzuki's "HEARTECT" lightweight platform. This contributes to a kerb weight of merely 949kg for the Motion grade equipped with manual transmission. Notably, an optional 4WD system is slated for introduction on the Ultra model later within the year.
Since its inception in 2004, the Swift has enjoyed considerable success, with over nine million units sold across 119 countries. As Suzuki GB celebrates 40 years of the Swift's presence in the market, this new model introduces Suzuki Connect connected services free of charge for three years from the vehicle's registration date. Additionally, a Service Activated Warranty is provided at no extra cost after the manufacturer warranty expires, extending coverage until the vehicle reaches seven years or accumulates 100,000 miles.
The Swift Concept's design is both stylish and practical, maintaining compact dimensions without compromising on visibility. Inside, occupants are treated to a spacious environment featuring a high-quality dual-tone design and a nine-inch infotainment display as standard. Safety has also been a focal point in this new model with enhancements such as an upgraded Dual Sensor Brake Support system, Lane Departure Warning, and a Driver Monitoring System. For added driver comfort and convenience, features like real-time vehicle connectivity through Suzuki Connect, a 9-inch Display Audio System with navigation and smartphone connectivity, and an extended Service Activated Warranty are included.
This comprehensive suite of features and improvements positions the all-new Swift Concept as a compelling option for those seeking a compact supermini that does not compromise on performance, safety, or technology.
