Stenograph Launches CATalyst Version 22 With Advanced Audio Capabilities

Stenograph, LLC, a renowned provider of technology solutions for the legal transcription industry, has recently announced a significant update to its flagship software, CATalyst®. This software is the go-to tool for computer-aided transcription, serving court reporters, scopists, CART providers, and captioners globally. Celebrating 25 years of innovation, CATalyst has consistently introduced advanced tools to streamline work processes, making tasks faster, easier, and more precise. The latest release, CATalyst Version 22, introduces audio features that enhance user experience by simplifying workflows and improving accuracy.

One of the standout features of CATalyst Version 22 is Direct Audio™. This functionality enables users to record and playback audio directly within CATalyst from web conferencing platforms. This is particularly beneficial for remote and hybrid jobs as it simplifies the setup process and eliminates the need for specialized equipment like Zoom kits. Additionally, for in-person proceedings, CATalyst reporters can now utilize multi-channel audio recording. This feature isolates individual speakers for clarity during audio playback, facilitating more efficient transcript editing.

CATalyst V22: New Audio Features

Mansi Soni, Senior Product Manager for CATalyst & Steno Software at Stenograph, expressed enthusiasm about the new update. "I am excited for CATalyst users to benefit from the ease of use that Direct Audio provides. With the increasing number of remote and hybrid jobs, it was important that we develop features customers can use in-person and remotely," Soni stated. She also highlighted the positive feedback received during beta testing and the additional enhancements made to Associate Audio and Break File functionalities.

CATalyst Version 22 also introduces new functionalities aimed at optimizing user productivity. Enhancements to Associate Audio streamline the process of integrating non-WAV and non-Opus audio files into CATalyst by eliminating the need for audio file conversion. Improvements to Break File functionality allow users to break a file and bring over only the associated audio, reducing file storage size. Furthermore, new toolbar icons provide direct links to unique training options, making it easier for users to access educational resources without manually navigating to external websites.

Mark Kuczora, VP of Marketing at Stenograph, commented on the evolution of the legal landscape towards hybrid and remote proceedings. "The technology in CATalyst must evolve and innovate to empower users to work at peak efficiency," Kuczora said. He emphasized Stenograph's commitment to enhancing customer productivity through continuous innovation.

Upgrading to CATalyst Version 22 is available at no additional cost for customers currently enrolled in Stenograph's Edge for CATalyst support plan. Those not on Edge can inquire about upgrading by contacting Stenograph directly. To experience Direct Audio and all new features of CATalyst Version 22 in person, Stenograph invites interested parties to visit them at STARCON24 in San Diego, CA, from April 18-20, 2024.
