Sky Original Celebrates The Specials And Terry Hall With A Heartfelt Tribute

In a heartfelt homage to Terry Hall on what would have been his 65th birthday, Sky Arts is set to unveil a unique tribute to The Specials, a band that left an indelible mark on the 20th-century music scene. This Sky Original, produced by White Light Film Productions, delves into the profound influence of social, economic, and political events on the band's music and its enduring impact on contemporary music and popular culture worldwide. The Specials are celebrated not just for their unforgettable tunes but for creating soundtracks for pivotal moments in history, promoting messages of unity and harmony amidst ongoing political and social strife.

Titled "Record On: The Specials – A Message to You," the documentary will feature insights from notable figures in the music industry, including Damon Albarn of Blur, Elvis Costello, Pauline Black, and The Specials' own Horace Panter and Lynval Golding. Scheduled to air on 19th March at 9 pm on Sky Arts, Freeview, and NOW, this documentary promises to offer an intimate look at the band's journey and its contributions to music and society. A screener is currently available on Sky Media Village for those eager for a preview.
