Škoda Epiq To Revolutionize Electric Mobility With 2025 Launch
Skoda Auto is gearing up to introduce its latest innovation in the electric vehicle market, the Skoda Epiq, a battery-electric city SUV crossover. Set for a grand unveiling in 2025, the Epiq is poised to make a significant impact with its competitive pricing of approximately €25,000 ($29,600). This new addition to Skoda's lineup promises a blend of spaciousness, with a luggage capacity of up to 490 liters, and impressive performance, boasting a range of over 400 kilometers (248 miles).
The Epiq is not just about practicality; it also introduces Skoda's new Modern Solid design language, which will be evident both inside and outside the vehicle. It aims to offer customers a range of cutting-edge technologies and assistance features, enhancing the driving experience. A design study released by Skoda highlights the key attributes that will define this future production model.

As part of Skoda's ambitious plan, the Epiq represents the second of six new electric vehicles slated for release in the upcoming years. Klaus Zellmer, CEO of Skoda Auto, emphasized the vehicle's value proposition, highlighting its spacious interior and compact dimensions. The move to expand into the sub-compact SUV segment underlines Skoda's commitment to diversifying its e-mobility portfolio and catering to evolving customer preferences.
The Epiq is designed to meet modern demands for sleek design, daily usability, and advanced yet accessible technology. Its interior will feature a minimalist yet functional approach, utilizing durable and sustainable materials. Notably, it will include an open storage compartment equipped with a wireless mobile phone charger among various storage solutions. Furthermore, the vehicle will support bidirectional charging, enabling it to supply excess electric energy back to the customer's home or other devices.
Production of the Epiq is set to take place in Pamplona, Spain. This initiative marks a collaborative effort between Skoda, Cupra, and Volkswagen in both development and production phases. Skoda Auto is heavily investing in its shift towards e-mobility, with plans to launch its first electric vehicle, the Skoda Elroq, later this year.
The company has set ambitious goals for itself, aiming to rank among the top five best-selling brands in Europe by 2030. It is also focusing on expanding its presence in growth markets such as India, North Africa, Vietnam, and the ASEAN region. This strategic direction underscores Skoda's commitment to innovation and sustainability in the automotive industry.
