SingleTimeMicroneedles Clinches Victory In SXSW 2024 Pitch With Innovative Health Tech

In a remarkable showcase of innovation at the 15th annual SXSW Pitch, SingleTimeMicroneedles, Inc. (STM), a pioneer in microneedle drug development and delivery, clinched the top spot in the Food, Nutrition, and Health category. This year's SXSW Pitch, held from March 8-16, 2024, and presented by KPMG, spotlighted STM among a diverse array of startups, highlighting the company's unique approach to healthcare solutions.

STM's victory emerged in a competitive landscape primarily dominated by artificial intelligence entities, underscoring the company's distinctive contribution to the field. The event, part of the South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference & Festivals, drew applications from hundreds of companies worldwide. STM distinguished itself among 45 finalists across nine categories.

STM Wins SXSW 2024 Pitch

Co-founder and CEO Jasdeep Singh demonstrated exceptional prowess during the pitch competition. With just three minutes for the pitch and a six-minute Q&A session, Singh effectively communicated STM's mission, leveraging detailed responses and engaging storytelling to illustrate the company's vision. "This was one of our biggest stages and I am deeply moved by the panel’s belief in the ‘what’ and ‘why’ we are working so hard at SingleTimeMicroneedles to improve health worldwide," Singh expressed.

STM has developed an innovative microneedle patch that could significantly enhance global access to lifesaving pharmaceuticals for both animals and humans. This technology stabilizes drugs and vaccines at room temperature, eliminating the need for cold-chain storage and transport. Notably, STM's patches are versatile, capable of delivering doses immediately or over extended periods in a single application.

The potential applications of STM's technology span a wide range of vaccines and therapeutics. This includes large molecules, subunit protein-based antigens, vector-based vaccines, mRNAs, and compounds requiring multiple or longitudinal dosing. The company is actively planning to deploy its patches in both animal and human health contexts.

Nicholas Farrell, STM’s Research Lead and presentation assistant at SXSW, highlighted the significance of their win: "I joined STM because I knew this technology has the potential to change the world. Our win comes down to the amazing fact that Jasdeep was able to communicate that truth, and our technical aspects, to the audience in such a short amount of time and with only a handful of slides."

Following their success at SXSW Pitch, STM is poised for rapid growth. The company seeks to forge partnerships within the animal and human health markets to further its mission.
