Electric Recycling And Refuse Vehicles Pilot Launched In Hampshire By Serco With VEV And RVS

In a pioneering move towards sustainable urban management, VEV, a prominent fleet solutions provider, has joined forces with Serco and Refuse Vehicle Solutions (RVS) to introduce a pilot scheme for electric recycling and waste collection vehicles across Basingstoke and Deane, Hart, and Rushmoor. The collaboration has seen RVS refurbish and convert two diesel refuse collection vehicles (RCVs) into electric counterparts, marking a significant step towards carbon emission reduction. Additionally, VEV has contributed by installing the necessary charging infrastructure for the eRCVs and implementing its advanced fleet management platform, VEV-IQ, to monitor the vehicles' performance throughout the pilot duration.
