Saudi Crown Prince Chairs Cabinet Session, Emphasizes Development And Global Cooperation

In a recent Cabinet session chaired by Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, in Jeddah, the Kingdom's successful hosting of millions of Umrah performers and worshippers during Ramadan was a primary topic of gratitude. The Crown Prince attributed this achievement to the divine grace of Allah and the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, alongside the diligent efforts of state agencies in serving the guests of Allah.

The session also covered a message from the Ethiopian prime minister, emphasizing the desire to strengthen bilateral relations. This aligns with Saudi Arabia's broader strategy to enhance cooperation and coordination with various countries, aiming for stability, prosperity, and sustainable development. The Cabinet endorsed the Gulf Cooperation Council's Vision for Regional Security, which seeks to maintain stability and promote prosperity while contributing to global peace and security.

A significant highlight was Saudi Arabia's selection to chair the UN Commission on the Status of Women in 2025, reflecting its commitment to advancing women's rights and empowerment. Domestically, the Cabinet reviewed the outcomes of the annual meeting of the governors of the regions, focusing on comprehensive development and improving services for citizens and residents. They lauded efforts that have led to a record-low unemployment rate among Saudi citizens through job creation and training programs.

The preservation and restoration of historical sites were affirmed as part of achieving Vision 2030 goals. On an international cooperation front, several decisions were made during the session. Memoranda of understanding with the Dominican Republic, North Macedonia, and Comoros were approved regarding political consultations and justice cooperation. Additionally, discussions and signing of draft agreements with San Marino and Serbia were authorized to encourage direct investment and economic cooperation, respectively.

Further agreements included cooperation in public policy with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and nuclear safety and radiation protection with Iraq. Air transport services agreements with Barbados and Mali were approved, along with a cooperation agreement in statistics with Bahrain. The Cabinet also authorized discussions with Pakistan on combating terrorism and with South Korea on seawater desalination.

One notable decision was assuming costs on behalf of individuals rectifying their residency status among displaced individuals from neighboring countries. These actions underscore Saudi Arabia's commitment to both domestic development and international cooperation, aiming for a prosperous future for its citizens and fostering global stability.
