Sky Arts To Air 'Johnson And Knopfler's Music Legends' Documentary Series
A new six-part documentary series, "Johnson and Knopfler's Music Legends," is set to premiere on Sky Arts on April 25th. This eagerly anticipated series brings together rock legends Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. Known for their significant contributions to the music industry and their enduring friendship, Johnson and Knopfler offer viewers an exclusive glimpse into their interactions with other music industry giants through interviews, jam sessions, and candid conversations.
The series kicks off with an episode featuring Sir Tom Jones, delving into his early musical influences and his friendship with Elvis Presley. Following this, the second episode introduces UK singer-songwriter Sam Fender, who discusses his musical journey and the impact Johnson and Knopfler have had on him. The duo also learns to play Fender's hit "Seventeen Going Under."

In the third installment, viewers are taken to New York's iconic The Power Station recording studio with Cyndi Lauper as the guest. Lauper shares insights into her career and collaborates with Johnson and Knopfler on a special arrangement of "True Colors." The fourth episode shines a spotlight on disco legend Nile Rodgers, exploring his illustrious career and culminating in a jam session on Chic's "Good Times."
The penultimate episode features a meeting with Carlos Santana in California, where he recounts his musical journey from the early days to his performance at Woodstock. The series finale in Nashville includes Emmylou Harris reflecting on her career and her relationship with Gram Parsons, alongside a jam session with Vince Gill.
