Rachael Sage Debuts 'Another Side': An Acoustic Reflection Of Folk And Pop
Rachael Sage, the award-winning alt-folk-pop singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, has unveiled her new full-length studio album, Another Side (MPress Records/ILS/Virgin). This album serves as an acoustic companion to Sage's critically acclaimed record, The Other Side. The stripped-down instrumentation highlights Sage's intimate vocals, offering lush versions of her most meticulously crafted work.
Another Side reimagines the songs from The Other Side, revealing their core essence. With Americana-infused hooks and folk-inspired poeticism, Sage's timeless writing underscores the importance of patience and optimism. Produced by Sage and recorded/mixed by Mikhail Pivovarov and Grammy winner Andy Zulla, the album features vocal contributions from breakthrough folk artist Crys Matthews, Americana vocal duo Annalyse & Ryan, and Nashville singer-songwriters Amy Speace and Grace Pettis.

Longtime collaborators Kelly Halloran (violin), Dave Eggar (cello), Trina Hamlin (harmonica), and percussionists Quinn (Tracy Chapman) and Katie Marie (Sophie B. Hawkins) provide the intricate foundation of the record. The album's living room-style versions create an intimate listening experience.
Sage recently released a new single from Another Side, titled "Albatross (Ft. Crys Matthews) [Reimagined]." This introspective track features guest vocals by award-winning folk artist Crys Matthews. The song serves as a rallying cry for empathy in a world often marred by bigotry and violence. Sage and Matthews' harmonized vocals create a powerful roots-rock anthem that emphasizes the importance of unity.
American Songwriter has praised Sage as "one of the most compelling and creative singers and songwriters of the modern era." Americana Highways described her songwriting as "innovative" and "thought-provoking," while Essentially Pop highlighted her ability to enchant listeners with her delicate vocal cadence and evocative piano melodies.
