Project Invent’s Night Of Innovation 2024: Empowering Students To Invent For Social Good

Project Invent, a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering middle and high school students to invent for social good, is set to host A Night of Innovation on Friday, May 17, from 6-9 p.m. PDT. Supported and hosted by Adobe, this event will feature student teams from across the country sharing their invention journeys and pitching solutions to real-world problems.

The event aims to bring together innovators, engineers, tech leaders, young professionals, students, educators, and donors interested in the future of education. Attendees will witness the creativity and ingenuity of student teams as they present their solutions to social issues. Project Invent will also recognize outstanding community members with three annual awards: Fellow of the Year, Volunteer of the Year, and Community Partner of the Year.

2024 Night of Innovation: Student Ingenuity

"A Night of Innovation is an exciting showcase of the impact that students can have on their communities and the world," said Jax Chaudhry, Executive Director of Project Invent. "We are excited to provide a platform for young inventors to share their groundbreaking solutions and inspire others to make a difference."

The evening will begin with Demo Day student presentations from 6-7 p.m., where prototypes developed in collaboration with local community members will be unveiled. Project Invent is particularly proud of its partnership with the Synopsis Foundation, which supports Oakland-area students and community partners.

Following the presentations, guests will have the opportunity to network over refreshments and hors d'oeuvres. At 7 p.m., in partnership with Lockerverse, Project Invent will host a Fireside Chat featuring former NFL player Shawn Springs, Boogio co-founder and CEO Jose Torres, and Second Spectrum’s Heaven Chen and Catherine Xu. This conversation will focus on digital creativity and student-led innovation and will be livestreamed on the Lockerverse app.

At 7:30 p.m., select student teams will be recognized with awards and funding to further their invention journeys. The evening will conclude with a Cocktail Reception from 8-9 p.m., where attendees can network and celebrate the achievements of Project Invent’s Annual Community Award winners.

Project Invent is a national nonprofit dedicated to empowering students with 21st-century skills to succeed individually and impact globally through invention.
