Pecan Energies Unveils New Identity, Pledges To Foster Prosperity In Ghana

ACCRA, GHANA - In a significant move towards redefining its corporate identity, Pecan Energies, the operator of the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block offshore Ghana, has unveiled its new brand identity. This transformation includes a new name, logo, and tagline "Unlocking Prosperity," reflecting the company's renewed commitment to fostering growth and prosperity in African communities. This rebranding initiative follows the acquisition of Pecan Energies by Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) in April 2023, marking a pivotal step in the company's journey towards becoming a leading Pan-African oil and gas operator.

The AFC, a multilateral financial institution founded by African sovereign states, aims to address Africa's infrastructure deficit and challenging operating environment through pragmatic solutions. The acquisition of Pecan Energies underscores AFC's dedication to ensuring that Africa's natural resources are developed sustainably while keeping the value within the continent. Holding a 50 per cent stake in the DWT/CTP block offshore Ghana, Pecan Energies is poised for significant growth.

Pecan Energies' New Era for Ghana Prosperity

Eiliv Gjesdal, Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies AS, expressed the company's ambition to be the Pan-African oil and gas operator of choice in offshore deep waters of Ghana. "Our new brand is dedicated to value creation, one of our core values. This also includes an unwavering commitment to transparency in how we harness our commercial and technical expertise for developmental outcomes in Ghana and beyond," Gjesdal stated.

Following the successful approval of its Plan of Development (PoD) for the DWT/CTP contract area by Ghanaian authorities, Pecan Energies is making strides towards a Final Investment Decision (FID). The company aims to unlock the full social and economic impact potential of the DWT/CTP block, which boasts discoveries of approximately 550 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalents and a significant exploration portfolio.

Kadijah Amoah, Chief Executive Officer of Pecan Energies Ghana Limited, highlighted the integration of sustainability, localization, empowerment, and giving back into the company's ethos. "As we embrace our new identity, these aren't just commitments — they're woven into the very fabric of our business," Amoah remarked.

The rebranding effort is marked by several key elements:

  • New Logo: The logo combines modern design elements that symbolize the company's progressive approach. It is designed to be clear, simple, and bold, representing collaboration and mutual benefit.
  • Brand Palette & Typography: The brand palette is central to sustaining brand recognition and reflects the company's commitment to sustainable development.
  • Vision and Mission: Pecan Energies' vision and mission articulate the aspiration to develop resources safely, efficiently, and responsibly for the mutual benefit of Ghanaian people, the company, and its partners. The goal is to unlock greater prosperity in Ghana and beyond.

The rebranding of Pecan Energies signifies a new chapter in its mission to unlock prosperity across Africa through sustainable development practices. With its strategic focus on value creation and transparency, Pecan Energies is set to make a lasting impact on Ghana's oil and gas sector and beyond.
