Nottinghamshire Police Enhances Emergency Response With 100 Škoda Cars
Nottinghamshire Police has recently enhanced its operational capabilities by incorporating 100 new Škoda vehicles into its fleet. This strategic move, announced on 19 March 2024, involves the addition of 92 Octavia Estates and eight Superb Estates. These vehicles are earmarked for a variety of critical roles within the force, including neighbourhood patrols, roads policing units, and driver training programs.
The decision to select Škoda as the provider for this significant fleet expansion was influenced by the brand's proven reliability and operational efficiency. Notably, Škoda offers a comprehensive turnkey conversion service directly from the manufacturer, which has been utilized for some of the vehicles to meet specific operational needs.

The Octavia Estates, comprising both 1.5 TSI and 2.0 TDI SE Tech models, are designated for response and neighbourhood policing duties. They come equipped with emergency warning systems, a full livery kit, and a roof-mounted light bar. Additionally, these models will support the force's driver training initiatives. The Superb Estates, all in Sportline Plus 2.0 TSI 280 DSG 4x4 specification, are allocated to dog units and road policing roles. The dog units feature custom kennel conversions with specialized air conditioning systems and blue light fitments, developed in collaboration with Pressfab EVO Limited, one of Škoda’s approved converters.
Road policing cars are outfitted with comprehensive blue light systems, Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology, and matrix boards to enhance their operational effectiveness. Rachael Whinham, Fleet Manager at Nottinghamshire Police, praised Škoda's vehicles for their performance in demanding conditions and their contribution to the force's commitment to safety and reliability.
Škoda's bespoke emergency service conversions cater to a wide range of requirements for Ambulance, Police, and Fire and Rescue teams across the UK. These specialized conversions include the integration of emergency services’ communications platforms within the vehicle's infotainment touchscreen and 360-degree lighting solutions.
This fleet enhancement aligns with Škoda Auto's strategic vision for the next decade, as outlined in the Next Level – Škoda Strategy 2030. The company aims to rank among the top five best-selling brands in Europe by 2030 while expanding its presence in key growth markets such as India and North Africa. With a diverse product lineup and a commitment to innovation and quality, Škoda continues to strengthen its position within the global automotive industry.
