CESI Appoints Nicola Melchiotti As CEO, Aims To Boost Energy Transition
Today, under the leadership of Guido Bortoni, who was confirmed in his role as chairman, the first meeting of the new board of directors of CESI S.p.A. took place. The board was renewed on 29 May by the ordinary shareholders' meeting. During the session, Nicola Melchiotti was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the term 2024 – 2026. On 1 June, Melchiotti will also assume the role of General Manager. He succeeds Domenico Villani, who will remain with the company as Executive Vice President for the TIC/KEMA Labs Division and Group Sustainability Affairs.
Nicola Melchiotti joins CESI after a long career at Enel, where he held various international positions, including Head of Global Customer Operations, Country Manager Argentina, Head of European Public Affairs and Regulation in Brussels, and Area Manager for Mexico and Central America. His professional background also includes strategic consulting at McKinsey & Company. Melchiotti holds an engineering degree in computer science from Politecnico di Milano, a master's in engineering from CentraleSupélec in Paris, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
