Montana Internet Debuts Gigabit Fiber In Helena's Northeast Valley, Celebrating Three Decades

Montana Internet, a pioneer in providing internet services in Helena, has recently taken significant strides to extend fiber internet connectivity to several underrepresented communities within Lewis & Clark County. This initiative marks a notable advancement in the region's digital infrastructure, offering high-speed internet to hundreds of homes and businesses in Helena Valley Northeast, particularly along Lincoln Road from I-15 to the Causeway.

In a substantial effort to enhance local connectivity, Montana Internet's dedicated fiber crew successfully completed nine miles of new backbone infrastructure late last year. This project included a complex aerial crossing at the Causeway Bridge, culminating in the activation of their fiber optic backbone and the installation of the first fiber optic connection in the Northeast Valley at a residence on Fantasy Road on February 12th. This development is set to significantly improve internet speed and reliability for numerous residents and businesses in the vicinity.

Gigabit Fiber Hits Helena Valley

Lacey Brelje, the Chief Operating Officer of Montana Internet, emphasized the company's commitment to affordability in their fiber strategy. With residential fiber plans starting at $65 per month, Montana Internet aims to make high-quality internet access affordable and accessible to all Montanans without requiring contracts or hidden fees.

Customer feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with residents like Rodger McMillan and Joe Beausoleil praising the swift installation process and exceptional service quality. Mary Phelps also lauded the company for its outstanding customer support and the superior performance of its fiber internet service.

To celebrate these achievements and its 30th anniversary, Montana Internet is planning a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Causeway Bridge in early May. The event will honor the company's expansion efforts and its long-standing commitment to serving Southwestern Montana communities.

Montana Internet has established 13 "fiberhoods" in the Helena area and plans to add another 10 by year's end. The company's fiber network also supports critical local infrastructure, including Saint Peter’s Hospital, Carroll College, and Helena Regional Airport, among others.

Josh Romandia, CEO of Montana Internet, expressed gratitude for the community's support over the past three decades. He highlighted that such backing has been instrumental in the company's mission to foster a more connected Montana. Looking ahead, Montana Internet will announce further fiber projects in Helena, Broadwater County, Jefferson County, and introduce its next-generation fixed-wireless service.
