Maserati GT2 Secures First Historic Victory At Fanatec GT2 European Series 2024

Le Castellet, 6 April 2024 – In a thrilling display of speed and skill, the LP Racing team's No. 1 Maserati GT2 clinched its first victory in the Fanatec GT2 European Series Championship Powered by Pirelli. Drivers Leonardo Gorini and Carlo Tamburini showcased their prowess in Race 1, marking a victorious start to the season at the Paul Ricard track. The success continued with a third-place finish for the team's second car in Round 2, driven by Philippe Prette, further establishing Maserati's competitive edge in the series.

The No. 1 Maserati GT2, starting from pole position after dominating the qualifiers, led the race from start to finish, adeptly handling the pressure from competitors. Meanwhile, Prette's No. 2 vehicle faced challenges but managed a commendable recovery to ninth place overall, securing a podium finish in the Am Cup. Another Maserati GT2, driven by Alexandre Leroy of TFT Racing team, also made a notable appearance, finishing seventh overall and third in the Am Cup class.

In Race 2, Prette's performance peaked as he took third overall and triumphed in the Am Cup once more. Despite a strong start from pole position by Gorini and Tamburini's car, a late-race contact saw them finishing thirteenth. Leroy maintained consistency with a sixth-place finish, securing another podium in the Am Cup.

The next challenge for these racers is set for Misano, Italy, from 17 to 19 May, promising more high-speed action and strategic racing.
