Mahindra Partners With Adani Total Energies To Boost India's EV Charging Network

In a significant development aimed at boosting the adoption of electric vehicles (EV) in India, Mahindra & Mahindra, the country's premier SUV manufacturer, has announced a strategic partnership with Adani Total Energies E-Mobility Limited (ATEL), a subsidiary of Adani Total Gas Limited. This collaboration, announced on Thursday, March 21, 2024, marks a pivotal step towards fostering a greener and more sustainable future in line with India's ambitious climate action goals.

The memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Mahindra and ATEL outlines a comprehensive plan for the development of an extensive EV charging infrastructure across India. Additionally, the partnership aims to introduce e-mobility solutions that will ensure easy access to this charging network for customers, covering aspects such as discovery, availability, navigation, and transactions. As a result of this alliance, owners of the XUV400 will gain access to over 1100 chargers through the Bluesense+ App, significantly improving the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle charging for Mahindra EV owners.

Expanding India's EV Charging Network

Veejay Nakra, President - Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with Adani Total Energies. "This alliance is a cornerstone in enhancing the EV charging infrastructure, ensuring our customers enjoy seamless access to charging networks and digital integration for an unparalleled EV experience," Nakra stated. He further emphasized Mahindra's commitment to expanding the EV ecosystem by actively onboarding multiple partners to drive the adoption of electric vehicles.

Suresh P Manglani, Executive Director & CEO of Adani Total Gas Ltd., highlighted the significance of this collaboration in expanding Adani Total Gas Ltd's footprint in the EV space. "The collaboration with M&M for the charging infrastructure will bolster the confidence of customers to embrace EV technology as part of the energy transition," Manglani remarked.
