This feature is designed to provide automatic alerts to members when someone from their Circle lands from a flight, enhancing the peace of mind for families. Life360's advanced flight detection algorithm uses phone sensors to accurately determine takeoff and landing times, even when the phone is in airplane mode. Once the traveller connects to a network post-landing, Circle members receive immediate notifications without any required action from the traveller.

This feature is automatically available for all Life360 members using the latest version of the app and can be managed through the Flight Detection toggle in the settings. Users have the option to disable notifications for scenarios such as planning surprise trips. Additionally, Landing Notifications introduce a new movement status on the Life360 map, displaying a plane icon when a Circle member is flying. This icon joins other movement icons that indicate different activities like walking, running, cycling, or driving, providing real-time insights into Circle members' whereabouts.

Life360's comprehensive suite of features goes beyond location-sharing and Landing Notifications. The app includes driving reports, crash detection, SOS features, emergency dispatch services, and more.
