Lamborghini SC63 To Compete In Its First US Race At The 12 Hours Of Sebring

Lamborghini Iron Lynx is set to make a significant impact at the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship this weekend, with the SC63 LMDh car making its US debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring. This marks a new chapter for the team, following a successful outing in Qatar. The #63 car, piloted by Lamborghini Squadra Corse factory drivers Matteo Cairoli, Andrea Caldarelli, and Romain Grosjean, will face the challenging conditions of the Sebring International Raceway for the first time in competition.

Alongside the debut of the SC63 in the GT Prototype (GTP) class, Lamborghini will also have a strong presence in the GT Daytona (GTD) classes with five Huracán GT3 EVO2s. This includes entries in both the GTD and GTD Pro categories, continuing their pursuit of excellence and reliability in endurance racing.

Lamborghini SC63 Debuts in US at Sebring

The Sebring circuit, known for its demanding nature due to its surface changes and corner variations, presents a unique challenge for teams and drivers alike. The Lamborghini Iron Lynx team is focused on adapting their setup to tackle the notorious bumps of the former airfield circuit, aiming for optimal performance throughout the grueling 12-hour event.

The engineering team behind Lamborghini Squadra Corse has been diligently working on adjustments to suspension and ride height settings to ensure the SC63 can withstand the rigors of Sebring. With previous success at the circuit in the GTD class, including a win in 2019 by Grasser Racing Team and a podium finish in 2021 by TR3 Racing, Lamborghini aims to continue its strong performance.

In addition to their efforts in the GTP class, Iron Lynx will field competitive entries in GTD Pro and GTD. The #19 car will see Franck Perera, Jordan Pepper, and Mirko Bortolotti teaming up, while Claudio Schiavoni and Matteo Cressoni will be joined by Leonardo Pulcini in the #60 car. The Iron Dames' #83 car remains unchanged with Michelle Gatting, Sarah Bovy, and Rahel Frey aiming for success.

The action-packed weekend begins with three free practice sessions starting Thursday morning. Qualifying will take place on Friday to set the grid for Saturday's endurance race. The Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series also kicks off this weekend, adding to the excitement with two races scheduled.

Lamborghini's participation in both the GTP and GTD classes highlights their commitment to endurance racing and their dedication to achieving top performance across different categories. As teams and drivers prepare for one of the most challenging races on the IMSA calendar, all eyes will be on Lamborghini Iron Lynx as they aim to make a strong impression at Sebring.

The 12 Hours of Sebring not only tests the endurance of vehicles but also serves as a testament to team strategy and driver skill. With Lamborghini's history of success at this circuit, expectations are high for a competitive showing across all entered classes. Fans worldwide can catch live action from both the race and the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America series on official streaming platforms.
