Iris Indie International Expands Portfolio With 'Ganymede' Rights Ahead Of Cannes

Iris Indie International, a company recognized for its innovative approach to film production over the past five years, has recently taken a significant step forward in the global film industry. It has acquired international sales rights to the acclaimed film "Ganymede," marking its first venture into worldwide distribution. This strategic move will be highlighted at the Cannes Film Festival, where "Ganymede" is set for a market screening on Wednesday, May 15, at Palais C, Noon.

Directed by Colby Holt and Sam Probst, "Ganymede" is a Southern gothic thriller that offers a deep dive into the life of Lee Fletcher IV, a high school star athlete in the rural South. The film intricately explores Lee's family dynamics, his identity, and emerging sexuality as he forms a relationship with Kyle, an openly gay classmate. This relationship unfolds while Lee is haunted by a sinister supernatural entity that reflects his internal struggles. The narrative boldly addresses themes of LGBTQ+ identity and acceptance.

It clinched the Audience Award at The Reeling Chicago LGBTQ+ International Film Festival and is slated for additional screenings, including at the Chattanooga Film Festival in June. Producer Stephen Stanley shared his excitement about partnering with Iris Indie International for distribution, praising their commitment to films that stimulate conversation and provoke thought.

Moreover, the producers of "Ganymede" are finalizing a deal for North American distribution rights, an announcement that is eagerly awaited. This deal is expected to further enhance the film's visibility and accessibility within the domestic market.

In addition to "Ganymede," Iris Indie International will present five other award-winning films and two documentaries at Cannes this year. This lineup underscores the company's dedication to bringing diverse and impactful stories to a global audience.
