InvestChile Forum Attracts Record USD 9 Billion In Investment Projects

The VII International InvestChile Forum is set to take place in Santiago from May 15-17, featuring a record number of investment projects. The inaugural conference, scheduled for Thursday, May 16, will be led by President Gabriel Boric, Economy Minister Nicolás Grau, Treasury Minister Mario Marcel, and InvestChile Director Karla Flores.

This year's forum will host representatives from over 100 companies across 28 countries. These participants will present more than 60 investment projects in various stages of development, collectively valued at US$9 billion. The sectors covered include technological and digital infrastructure, infrastructure concessions, clean energy and storage, and the lithium industry.

InvestChile Director Karla Flores highlighted the significance of this year's event. "Foreign companies that participate in the forum go through a selection process in which they apply with their investment projects in high-value sectors. Never before have we had such great interest and such high amounts associated with these projects," she stated.

The inaugural conference will commence on May 17 at 9 a.m. Key speakers include Chile’s Treasury Minister Mario Marcel, Economy Minister Nicolás Grau, and InvestChile Director Karla Flores. They will be joined by international figures such as William Maloney, Chief Economist for the Latin America and Caribbean Region at the World Bank, and Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

Panel Discussions

The event's schedule features two panels with representatives from foreign companies. The first panel will discuss the role of foreign investment as a catalyst for smart solutions. Leaders from HIF Global, AES Andes, Google, and AB InBev will contribute to this discussion.

The second panel will focus on the experiences of companies like SoftServe, Pacific Hydro Chile, Enel Chile, and Mercado Libre. These companies will address their reinvestment and expansion strategies within Chile.
