InterContinental Chiang Mai Debuts Hong's Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar With Panoramic Views
CHIANG MAI, Thailand, March 12th, 2024 – The InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping is set to enhance its dining offerings with the introduction of Chiang Mai’s inaugural upscale Chinese dining venue, Hong’s Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar. Under the guidance of Chef Chong Li, the restaurant is poised to offer a unique culinary journey through the rich tapestry of Chinese cuisine, blending the fiery tastes of Sichuan, the refined flavours of Cantonese cooking, and the delicate balance of Taiwanese dishes.
The establishment’s design draws inspiration from the historical Lanna-Chinese trade, incorporating auspicious colours and symbols into its elegant décor. Situated on the 16th floor, Hong’s provides diners with breathtaking views of Doi Suthep mountain and the cityscape. The menu features a selection of Chef Li’s signature à la carte dishes such as mapo tofu lobster and sweet and sour squirrel fish with pine nuts, alongside a variety of grilled meats, seafood, dim sum, noodles, and rice dishes.

Hong’s also introduces a premium Chinese sharing table experience, ideal for both family celebrations and business events. The Sky Bar on the upper level complements this dining experience with its innovative mixology that incorporates local ingredients, culture, and heritage. Guests can enjoy a range of small bites like deep-fried taro with duck and crab meat cone with Sichuan micro herbs alongside their crafted cocktails.
Chef Chong Li shared his philosophy on Chinese cuisine, stating, "Chinese cuisine is all about balance and contrast. It's about achieving a harmony of flavours that creates a unique mouth-feel or kougan. At Hong’s, we strive to offer an experience that respects traditional Chinese culinary roots while embracing innovation."
Hong’s Chinese Restaurant & Sky Bar can accommodate up to 168 guests across its two levels and will be open daily for dinner. For more information or to make a reservation at InterContinental Chiang Mai The Mae Ping, interested parties are encouraged to contact [email protected].
