IllumiPure Secures Patents For World's Safest LED Lighting Technology

illumiPure®, Inc., a leader in innovative LED solutions, has announced two patents for its CleanWhite® 405 nm and 405/470 white light LEDs. These LEDs are the only ones to receive a Risk Grade 0 (EG 0) / Exempt Status rating for safety after IEC 62741 testing. This technology has been patented in the European Union and Japan, adding to the North American patent in 2022.

CleanWhite LEDs combine traditional white light illumination, disinfection, and circadian rhythm management while removing the most harmful spectrums of blue light. This sets a new standard in health and safety protocols for indoor environments. The LEDs are the world’s safest white light LED, awarded exempt status after IEC 62741 testing, which assesses the safety of lighting on skin and eyes.

CleanWhite LEDs provide white light illumination, disinfection, and circadian rhythm management within a single LED. They use a 405 nm diode instead of the traditional 450 nm diode to create white light illumination, eliminating harmful blue light between 440 and 450 nm. Additionally, the 405 nm light acts as a powerful disinfectant.

Continuous Disinfection

The CleanWhite LED is the first and only single LED chip that offers both white light illumination and disinfection in one diode. Unlike conventional disinfection LEDs that require mode switching to activate disinfection, illumiPure’s CleanWhite 405 LED fixtures deliver continuous disinfection on surfaces and in the air while emitting normal white light.

Circadian Rhythm Management

The CleanWhite 405/470 LED also enhances the 470 nm wavelength of light, providing additional circadian rhythm management. Disruption of circadian rhythm by harmful blue light wavelengths is linked to various adverse conditions, including cognitive decline, fatigue, headaches, learning difficulties, increased risk of diabetes, weight gain, and some cancers.
