In a significant move towards combating food insecurity in the local community, Hyundai Motor America, alongside Premier Hyundai of Seaside, has made a generous donation of $20,000 to the Food Bank for Monterey County. This contribution is part of Hyundai's broader corporate social responsibility initiative, Hyundai Hope, aimed at uplifting communities by addressing pressing issues such as hunger. The ceremonial presentation of the check took place in Carmel Valley, California, marking a continued partnership between the automotive giant and the food bank.

Brandon Ramirez, director of corporate social responsibility and external relations at Hyundai Motor America, emphasized the company's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. "Food insecurity is a major issue that many families face," Ramirez stated, highlighting Hyundai's pride in supporting the Food Bank for Monterey County's efforts to provide nutritious meals to those in need. The event saw key figures from both Hyundai and the food bank come together, including Joyce Kennaday, Michelle Karajelian, Melissa Kendrick—CEO and executive director of the Food Bank for Monterey County—Joe Homen, general manager at Premier Hyundai of Seaside, and others.

He stressed the importance of playing a larger role in supporting vulnerable neighbors beyond delivering excellent customer service. The Food Bank for Monterey County serves as a vital hub for high-quality fresh produce and educational resources, supporting over 160 local nonprofit network members. Melissa Kendrick shared her vision of transforming Monterey County from one of the hungriest to one of the healthiest counties in California through the support of corporate sponsors like Hyundai.

The Food Bank for Monterey County not only focuses on ending hunger but also on operating in an environmentally conscious manner. With 480 solar panels and a custom warehouse setup, the organization upholds sustainability, efficiency, and food safety in its operations. Serving 1 in 3 children and 1 in 4 residents in the county, the food bank has been a frontline organization fighting hunger and addressing nutritional needs for over 30 years.
