Over 6,000 Attendees At HKSTP 'Talent Power Up' I&T Career Expo 2024 To Elevate Hong Kong's Tech Scene

The Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) recently hosted the "Talent Power Up" I&T Career Expo 2024, marking a significant milestone with a record attendance of 6,000 visitors. This event showcased over 3,000 job opportunities from more than 300 Park companies, highlighting the burgeoning demand for talent in Hong Kong's I&T sector. The Expo served as a vibrant platform for local and non-local talent to connect with potential employers in strategic industries such as micro-electronics, biotechnology, AI and robotics, and green tech.

The Expo was not just about job opportunities; it was a celebration of innovation and entrepreneurship. The introduction of the "StartUP Power Hub" zone was a testament to this, offering insights into the startup culture and providing a stage for over 30 successful startup founders to share their entrepreneurial journey. This initiative underscored HKSTP's commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a dynamic I&T ecosystem in Hong Kong.

With an emphasis on AI and digital technologies, the Expo featured workshops led by global AI platform providers such as AWS, LinkedIn, and Google. These sessions aimed at equipping participants with the latest skills in AI, thereby enhancing their employability in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Albert Wong, CEO of HKSTP, emphasized the importance of adapting to technological advancements and nurturing a curiosity for continuous learning. "It's an obligation for us to be aware of not just our capabilities in the current technology trends but also our constant curiosity in adapting to changes," he stated. The Expo aimed to upskill Hong Kong talent with Gen AI trends and knowledge, significantly bolstering the tech talent pipeline essential for the city's growth in the new era.
