In a significant move to bolster the IT talent pool in the Greater Bay Area, the Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), part of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), has joined forces with Automated Systems (H.K.) Limited (ASL), a subsidiary of Automated Systems Holdings Limited. This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to enhance vocational and professional education and training (VPET) in information technology, thereby contributing to the development of the Digital Bay Area.
At the heart of this partnership are HKIIT Vice-Principal Wing WONG, HKIIT Principal Dr. John HUI, VTC Deputy Executive Director Dr. Eric LIU, ASL Senior Vice President and CSA Automated (Macau) Limited General Manager Teresa LAU, ASL Vice President Commercial Sales Division Michael PANG, and Automated Systems Holdings Limited Human Resources Director Fion CHAN. ASL's Senior Vice President Teresa LAU emphasized the company's dedication to providing DevSecOps IT services that meet customer needs. Dr. John HUI of HKIIT highlighted the institution's commitment to promoting VPET in IT, noting that the collaboration with ASL would equip students with comprehensive skills vital for navigating the dynamic IT industry.
Under this MoU, ASL will offer industrial attachment opportunities to HKIIT students, allowing them to gain practical work experience with advanced technology and seasoned IT professionals. This initiative not only facilitates career advancement in the IT sector but also underscores ASL's focus on enhancing employment prospects for HKIIT graduates by giving them priority during full-time job interviews.
Recognizing the importance of lifelong learning and professional development, HKIIT has introduced "SkillsUp", an in-service training service aimed at reskilling and upskilling industry practitioners, corporate professionals, and the workforce. In collaboration with ASL, HKIIT will extend "SkillsUp" courses to ASL employees, catering to the evolving demands of the digital age.
For over five decades, ASL has been at the forefront of providing industry-specific solutions, comprehensive network and security management services, and omni-channel integrated managed services across the Greater Bay Area and Asia Pacific. This partnership with HKIIT underscores both entities' dedication to nurturing vocational professionals and fostering the IT industry's growth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
This collaboration between HKIIT and ASL represents a significant step towards building a robust IT talent pool in the region, ensuring that students and professionals are well-equipped with the necessary skills to thrive in the ever-evolving information technology landscape.
