Expanding Access To Art Therapy: Grabie Art Fund Teams Up With AATA

In a significant move towards supporting mental health through art, Grabie, a prominent online retailer renowned for its extensive range of art and craft supplies, has announced a strategic collaboration with the American Art Therapy Association (AATA). This partnership is facilitated through the Grabie Art Fund, an initiative launched in 2022 aimed at making art supplies more accessible to those in financial need.

The Grabie Art Fund dedicates 1% of all sales on GrabieArt.com to fund the donation of art supplies to underserved communities. This initiative has already made a considerable impact, supporting 39 organizations and donating over $157,000 worth of art supplies. Evan Li, CEO of Grabie, emphasized the importance of art in supporting mental health and the company's commitment to facilitating access to art therapy resources.

Broadening Art Therapy Access

In 2023, the fund made a notable contribution to the Born This Way Foundation, co-founded by Lady Gaga and Cynthia Germanotta, benefiting over twenty local organizations with essential art supplies for art therapy. The collaboration with AATA in 2024 aims to extend this support further by donating to AATA member programs quarterly. These programs offer free art therapy services in local communities, targeting youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, veterans, and other underserved groups.

Organizations such as Nassau County Youth Wellness Summit, Full Spectrum Therapy, Free Arts NYC, My House, and The Uvalde Love Project are among the beneficiaries. Kallah Maguire, Marketing Director at Grabie, highlighted the company's dedication to inclusivity and representation in all its endeavors.

Additionally, Grabie introduced its quarterly Art Box, designed to support mental health through creativity. This box is available for purchase individually or via subscription at a discounted rate. It includes a variety of art materials and activities suitable for all skill levels.

Founded in response to the widespread mental health challenges exacerbated by the pandemic, Grabie aims to democratize access to art as a form of healing and self-expression. The company's international team is committed to making high-quality art supplies affordable and accessible to everyone.

The American Art Therapy Association (AATA), a key partner in this initiative, is a leading professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of art therapy. Established in 1969, AATA supports professional development and research in art therapy to benefit individuals and communities worldwide.

This collaboration between Grabie and AATA represents a significant step forward in promoting mental wellness through creative expression. By providing essential resources and support to those in need, both organizations are making a tangible difference in the lives of many individuals across various communities.
