Gordon Murray Group To Unveil Special Vehicles Division With Dual Supercar Launch At Monterey Car Week
The Gordon Murray Group, renowned for its work in automotive engineering and design, is preparing to unveil its first creations under the newly established 'Special Vehicles’ division. This landmark event is set to take place on 15 August at The Quail – A Motorsport Gathering, amidst the festivities of Monterey Car Week.
The unveiling will feature two groundbreaking supercars, with one being a unique bespoke commission for a client, while the other has been crafted by the skilled team at Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV). Until the official reveal in California, the specifics of these vehicles will be kept secret. However, it's clear that both models embody the Gordon Murray tradition of prioritizing lightweight construction and innovative engineering design.

As the climax of the T.50 supercar production draws near, with the finalisation of its limited 100-unit run scheduled for the end of July, the anticipation for these new models grows. The T.50, celebrated for its embodiment of driving perfection, was produced at the new Highams Park headquarters of Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) and has found owners in 19 countries worldwide.
Phillip Lee, the CEO of Gordon Murray Group, shared his excitement about expanding the Gordon Murray family through these new ventures. He expressed enthusiasm about offering loyal and new clients the chance to collaborate with the GMSV design and engineering teams to create their dream supercars. Lee highlighted the opportunity to showcase the unique interpretations of the Gordon Murray Automotive ethos through these upcoming GMSV projects.
To align with the company's strategic product launch plans, the Gordon Murray Group decided to postpone the next-generation GMA T.33 unveiling until after the summer's peak activities. This delay allows the Group to focus on celebrating 60 years of car design by the company's founder, Professor Gordon Murray CBE, at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July before introducing the two all-new GMSV models in California in August.
Professor Gordon Murray expressed his amazement at marking 60 years in the field of car design and engineering, looking forward to sharing memories with fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. He also anticipates the Gordon Murray Special Vehicles double debut as a chance to offer both existing and new customers more ways to engage with the brand's celebration of automotive excellence and driving joy.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will serve as a platform to honor 60 years of Gordon Murray's car design achievements. The event will feature the complete lineup of Gordon Murray Automotive models, including the T.50, T.50s Niki Lauda, and T.33 prototypes, alongside historic cars that have defined Murray's distinguished career. Among these are the 1967 IGM Ford, the Brabham and McLaren models that dominated Formula One races, and the innovative LCC Rocket, showcasing the breadth and impact of Murray's work on automotive design and racing history.
These new models not only represent the future direction of the company but also reinforce its commitment to delivering unparalleled driving experiences. The world eagerly awaits the unveiling of these vehicles, poised to set new standards in the realm of supercar design and performance.
