Genesis Motor America Appoints Ex-Mercedes Executive Drew Slaven As New CMO

In a strategic move to bolster its presence in the U.S. automotive market, Genesis Motor America has announced the appointment of Drew Slaven, a former Mercedes-Benz executive, as its chief marketing officer (CMO). This announcement was made on March 18, 2024, from their headquarters in Fountain Valley, Calif. Slaven's role is pivotal in driving the brand's marketing strategies across the United States, aiming to enhance brand awareness and support the growth of sales and market share.

Slaven brings to Genesis a wealth of experience from his tenure at Mercedes-Benz USA, where he held several senior leadership roles, including vice president, chief marketing officer, and digital strategy officer. His contributions there were instrumental in achieving double-digit revenue growth and record profitability. Slaven's expertise in luxury marketing leadership is expected to be a significant asset for Genesis as it navigates a period of critical expansion.

Drew Slaven Named Genesis CMO

Reporting directly to Claudia Marquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, Slaven will oversee the development and implementation of all marketing strategies and activations within the U.S. This includes managing national and regional advertising, multicultural and experiential marketing, digital marketing, CRM, and brand websites. Additionally, he will collaborate with Genesis retailers nationwide to support local marketing efforts.

Marquez expressed confidence in Slaven's appointment, highlighting it as an important milestone in enhancing the leadership team's capabilities to better serve customers. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Pittsburgh.
