Frank Stephenson Design Reveals Luxurious Interior Of HALO Spaceflight's Aurora Capsule

Frank Stephenson Design, a renowned design house, has recently revealed the interior design of HALO Spaceflight's space capsule, named "The Aurora." This design uniquely blends luxury, safety, and functionality, featuring lightweight materials, spacious seating, and large viewing windows to enhance the space travel experience for passengers. The capsule's design, inspired by Space Age architecture, includes curved lines and reflective surfaces, alongside an innovative seating arrangement that maximizes the visual experience of space.

HALO Space's approach to space tourism is distinguished by its use of a helium balloon for a gradual ascent into the stratosphere. This method not only ensures passenger comfort but also extends flight durations, allowing for a more immersive exploration of space. The Aurora capsule can carry up to eight passengers and one pilot, with a total take-off weight of 3,500 kilograms. Its expansive windows cover a total area of 2.82 square meters, offering passengers unparalleled views of Earth from the edge of space.

With an ambitious goal to service 10,000 passengers by 2030, HALO Space is committed to making space tourism more accessible. The company is actively developing initiatives to lower financial barriers, enabling more individuals to realize their dreams of space exploration. Frank Stephenson, the Founder and Creative Director of Frank Stephenson Design, highlighted the challenge of creating a visually appealing interior that adheres to strict safety regulations and weight distribution requirements. The use of aluminum alloy and composites helps maintain the capsule's spacious feel while ensuring passenger safety.

Carlos Mira, CEO of HALO Space, commended the capsule's design for capturing the essence of luxury, elegance, safety, and functionality. The interior design draws inspiration from the awe-inspiring beauty of the cosmos and Space Age architectural principles. The seating arrangement is specifically designed to provide optimal viewing angles for passengers, enhancing their experience of space exploration.

HALO Space's commercial flights promise a unique ascent experience through the use of a helium balloon, minimizing G-forces for a smoother journey. These flights typically last between 4-6 hours and can reach altitudes of up to 35 km. HALO Space collaborates with leading aerospace companies such as CT Engineering Group, Aciturri, GMV, and TIFR in developing its spaceflight program. The company aims to offer zero-emission flights that allow passengers to witness the Earth's curvature and the vast expanse of space firsthand.

The inception of HALO Space was supported by incubation from consulting firm Arthur D. Little before securing €5 million in seed funding. Under the leadership of CEO Carlos Mira and Chief Technology Officer Alberto Castrillo, HALO Space is poised to redefine space tourism with its innovative approach and commitment to sustainability.
