E-PASS Customers To Benefit From Statewide Toll Relief Program With 50% Savings

Starting April 1, 2024, Florida's E-PASS customers are set to benefit from a significant reduction in their monthly toll expenses, thanks to a new statewide toll relief initiative announced by Governor Ron DeSantis. This program is designed to halve the toll bills for drivers of two-axle vehicles who make 35 or more trips per month. This discount requires no registration and is automatically applied to eligible E-PASS accounts, including those with the E-PASS sticker, the Uni portable toll pass that is accepted in 19 states, and college-branded passes such as GatorPass, KnightPass, and NolePass.

Michelle Maikisch, Executive Director of the Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration with the state to deliver these savings directly to E-PASS customers. Highlighting customer satisfaction as a top priority, Maikisch noted the importance of this initiative in providing financial relief to frequent toll road users. E-PASS, which was the pioneer electronic toll collection system in Florida since its inception in 1994, now serves nearly 1.6 million customers.

E-PASS Users Get 50% Toll Savings

The toll relief program is straightforward: drivers with two-axle vehicles who record 35 or more toll transactions in a month will see a 50% reduction in their toll charges for that month. This benefit is extended automatically to accounts in good standing, without the need for any registration process. The discount is applied in the month following the one in which the qualifying transactions were made.

For those interested in joining the E-PASS program, free stickers can be obtained through various channels including the official website GetEpass.com, the E-PASS mobile app, by phone, at the downtown walk-in service center, or via the drive-up customer service Reload Lanes. Other E-PASS products are also available for purchase on Amazon.

The Central Florida Expressway Authority (CFX), an independent state agency, manages a regional network of expressways serving over 3.3 million residents and more than 75 million visitors across Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, and Seminole Counties. Funds collected from E-PASS tolls are reinvested locally into maintenance, operations, improvements, and expansion of the CFX expressway system. The free E-PASS sticker transponder is compatible with all toll roads and most bridges in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, while the portable Uni transponder extends its utility to 19 states.

This toll relief program not only underscores Florida's commitment to enhancing transportation affordability for its residents but also reinforces the role of electronic toll collection systems like E-PASS in modernizing and streamlining road usage charges for millions of Americans.
