Fernando Alonso Unveils His Aston Martin Valkyrie, An F1 Car For The Road

Fernando Alonso, the driver for Aston Martin's Aramco Formula 1 Team, showcased his new Aston Martin Valkyrie hypercar in Monaco. The vehicle, described as an F1 car for the road, was delivered to him recently.

Alonso drove the Valkyrie out of Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, displaying a unique design created with Aston Martin's bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin. The car's appearance draws inspiration from Alonso's AMR24 race car.

Alonso Shows Off F1-Inspired Valkyrie

The Valkyrie is painted in Satin Aston Martin Racing Green with contrasting AMR Satin Lime Graphics. These graphics highlight the car's aerodynamic features. The Venturi Tunnel is enhanced with Speed Red and Light and Dark Blue painted graphics. Exposed Carbon Fibre is used on the roof, engine cover, and lower aero parts. A Titanium Aston Martin Wings badge is placed on the nose, and a 'CAUTION HOT' graphic is applied to the rear.

Inside, the cabin features extensive use of exposed carbon fibre and Pure Black Alcantra with AMR Lime stitching. Alonso's logo is embroidered into the headrests using the same thread. One of the most intricate details is a red anodised aluminium accelerator pedal etched with Alonso’s driver number '14’.

The Valkyrie can accelerate from 0-60mph in under 2.5 seconds. It has a hybrid 6.5-litre V12 powertrain that produces up to 1,155PS. This combination of F1-inspired aerodynamics and performance offers an intense driving experience.

"It's hard to put into words how much I have been looking forward to this day," said Fernando Alonso. "To sit at the wheel of my own Valkyrie; one that I have worked on designing so closely with the team at Q by Aston Martin is certainly a day to remember."

The Valkyrie is built at Aston Martin's UK Headquarters in Gaydon. A dedicated project delivery team oversees each build in a specially commissioned production area. Each of the 150 cars takes over 2000 man hours to create by highly skilled technicians.

Before delivery, each Valkyrie undergoes track testing at Silverstone, where much of its development occurred. This ensures that every car meets high-performance standards before reaching its owner.

Q by Aston Martin offers customers extensive personalisation options for their vehicles. From bespoke paint colours to personalised interior details, this service allows for unique specifications tailored to individual preferences.

"Valkyrie truly is an F1 car for the road," added Alonso. "With so much of the knowledge and technology taken from all the experience Aston Martin has on track and I can't wait to hit the road."

The combination of advanced engineering and customisation makes each Valkyrie a unique masterpiece tailored to its owner's vision.
