FCC Environmental Services Enhances Midwest Presence With St. Paul Contract
The City of Saint Paul, Minnesota, has recently announced a significant partnership with FCC Environmental Services, marking a major step forward in the city's waste management and sustainability efforts. This extensive Solid Waste Collection Services contract, encompassing 90% of the city, is set to benefit around 300,000 residents by promoting a cleaner and healthier environment. Scheduled to commence on November 1st, 2024, the contract spans seven years and boasts a backlog exceeding $115 million.
In a move that underscores FCC's commitment to environmental sustainability, the company plans to invest over $25 million in infrastructure and resources. This investment includes the construction of a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station and the procurement of more than 30 new collection trucks that will be fueled by CNG. Additionally, FCC will acquire fully electric pickups for route managers and an electric box truck dedicated to bulk and appliance pickups. The introduction of a new fleet of CNG vehicles is a testament to FCC's dedication to reducing emissions and enhancing the city's waste management system.

Dan Brazil, Chief Executive Officer of FCC and a native Minnesotan, expressed his enthusiasm about the contract award. "We are thrilled to announce this significant contract award and partnership, which represents a pivotal strategic milestone as we expand our geographical reach further into the Midwest market. We are honored to bring our high-quality services and sustainability approaches to the Capitol city," he stated. This contract not only signifies a major achievement for FCC but also marks an expansion of its operations in the Midwest, following the successful implementation of its Omaha contract in 2020.
