Experts Introduce Workplace Energy Advice To Enhance Employee Wellbeing

In a significant move to combat the escalating issue of fuel poverty and its detrimental effects on workforce morale, Residential Energy Services (RES) has unveiled its latest initiative, the Workplace Energy Advice programme. Launched on April 26th, 2024, in Staffordshire, UK, this innovative programme is set to revolutionize the way employees engage with energy conservation practices both in their professional and personal lives.

With the backing of The Department of Energy Security & Net Zero and Midlands Net Zero Hub, the programme aims to extend a helping hand to those employed within sectors such as manufacturing, production, and retail. These sectors often see workers facing challenges in accessing community advice due to irregular working hours and limited technological resources. The Workplace Energy Advice programme is designed to bridge this gap by offering free, flexible energy consultation services.

Energy Advice Boosts Wellbeing

One of the standout features of this initiative is its adaptability to various business models and employee schedules. By integrating "drop-in" workshops and pop-up consultation services within communal work areas, the programme ensures that valuable energy-saving advice is delivered without disrupting the daily workflow. This approach not only facilitates easier access to information but also respects the time constraints faced by employees.

Sarah Parry, Managing Director at Residential Energy Services, highlighted the dual benefits of the programme, stating, "This unique service from RES empowers employers to provide tangible guidance and support to employees to drive forward their commitment to sustainability". This statement underscores the programme's potential to foster a culture of energy efficiency within the workplace while simultaneously addressing broader environmental concerns.

The Workplace Energy Advice programme covers a wide array of topics, including practical energy-saving tips, an introduction to energy-efficient measures like insulation and air source heat pumps, and personalised sessions to explore funding eligibility and Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs). This comprehensive approach ensures that employees are well-equipped with the knowledge needed to make informed decisions about their energy use.

Since its inception in 2014, RES has been at the forefront of raising awareness about energy subsidies and providing advisory services. To date, over 20,000 households across the UK have benefited from their expertise. By focusing on educating homeowners about energy conservation measures and guiding them through the process from advice to installation, RES has established itself as a key player in promoting sustainable energy practices.

The launch of the Workplace Energy Advice programme marks a significant milestone in RES's ongoing efforts to enhance energy literacy and support sustainable living. By providing accessible and tailored energy advice directly within the workplace, RES is setting a new standard for how businesses can contribute to environmental stewardship while also looking after the well-being of their employees.
