New Digexin Clinical Trial Unveils Key Brain-to-Gut Health Advantages

A recent clinical trial has unveiled significant findings regarding Digexin®, a novel herbal ingredient developed by NXT USA, highlighting its potential benefits in enhancing digestive and mental wellness. Published in the Journal of the American Nutrition Association, the study titled "A Novel Herbal Composition Alleviates Functional Constipation, Reduces Gastrointestinal (GI) Transit Time, and Improves Bowel Function in Adults: A Double-Blind, Randomized Clinical Study," presents compelling evidence of Digexin's effectiveness. Freemen Nutra, the exclusive distributor of Digexin in the US and Europe, has played a pivotal role in bringing this ingredient to market.

Eric Anderson, Managing Director of NXT-USA, shared his enthusiasm about the study's outcomes, noting significant improvements in digestive symptoms, overall quality of life, and more regular bowel movements among participants. Douglas Kalman, PhD RD, a co-author of the study, emphasized Digexin's positive impact on GI symptoms and its potential influence on the gut-brain axis.

Digexin Trial: Brain-Gut Health Boost

The research focused on assessing Digexin's efficacy and tolerability through a 60-day trial involving 135 participants aged between 25 to 60. The study compared doses of 300 mg and 500 mg of Digexin against a placebo, utilizing various assessment scales to measure outcomes. Results indicated notable improvements in constipation symptoms, quality of life, bowel function, and mental health from as early as day 7.

Eric Withee, Director of Ingredient Innovation at Freemen Nutra, highlighted that Digexin offers direct benefits to the GI tract while promoting a shift towards a parasympathetic state conducive to digestion. The study concluded that Digexin also positively affects non-GI factors such as stress, mood, and sleep profiles.

Digexin is now available in the US and Europe through Freemen Nutra Group. Interested parties can learn more about this innovative ingredient at VitaFoods in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 14–16 at booth E122.

The findings from this study not only underscore Digexin's potential in addressing digestive health concerns but also its broader implications for improving mental wellness. As research continues, Digexin stands out as a promising solution for those seeking to enhance their digestive health and overall well-being.
