DePaul Driehaus College And Discovery Senior Living Initiate Leadership Program
Discovery Senior Living has launched a new leadership development program in collaboration with the Executive Education Program at DePaul University’s Driehaus College of Business. This initiative aims to accelerate leadership capabilities within the organisation. The program is tailored to meet the specific needs of Discovery Senior Living, which is the fifth largest senior living operator in the United States.
The yearlong, virtual and online certificate program will benefit nearly 200 leaders from across Discovery Senior Living. It includes four dynamic, synchronous workshops that cover fundamental aspects of leadership. The first workshop focuses on cultivating self-awareness and action planning, led by Professor Erich Dierdorff, an award-winning teacher and researcher in human resources and organisational behaviour.

"In our first workshop, we focus on cultivating self-awareness and action planning," said Bob Rubin, Associate Dean of Graduate and Executive Education at Driehaus. "This session sets the groundwork for their leadership growth journey."
The remaining three sessions will address how to recruit and retain a diverse workforce, foster excellence, and drive organisational change from the mid-level. Asynchronous, experiential exercises will complement these workshops, allowing participants to integrate their newly acquired skills into their daily work.
Participants who complete all four sessions will receive a certificate from DePaul University. "Our executive education programs are designed to propel professionals’ development through targeted learning opportunities," said Rubin. "We prioritize customization, tailoring our programs to align with each organisation’s specific learning and development objectives."
Strategic Investment in Leadership
Bill Sciortino, Chief Operating Officer at Discovery Senior Living, emphasised the importance of this initiative. "We recognise that strong, capable, and engaged leaders are at the heart of attracting and retaining the very best talent in the industry," he said. "Our investment in our leaders and partnership with DePaul is just one of many strategies towards our continued focus on building a world-class learning organisation."
