Based in Kendal and specializing in Wills and Estate Planning, Smith is deeply connected to the Cumbrian community. Her work with rural and farming families, combined with her role as a dementia champion, underscores her dedication to addressing local challenges. "I am honoured to accept the role of Trustee with the foundation," Smith remarked, highlighting her eagerness to leverage her professional expertise and community links in support of the Foundation's objectives.

Rachael Stephenson, a Partner in the Private Client team at Muckle LLP, also joins the board with a strong background in charitable work within Cumbria. Specializing in succession planning and charitable trusts, Stephenson has been an active trustee for several local charities, including Eden Valley Hospice & Jigsaw. Her commitment to philanthropy and making a tax-efficient impact on those in need is evident. "I'm delighted to have been chosen as a trustee for Cumbria Community Foundation," Stephenson shared, expressing her excitement about contributing to the Foundation's impactful work.

Andy Beeforth, Chief Executive of Cumbria Community Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the new appointments. "We were delighted with the range and quality of people applying to fill these volunteer roles," Beeforth said, looking forward to working with the new trustees to enhance philanthropic funds for Cumbria's benefit. The trio joins an existing board of 16 members, chaired by David Beeby, former CEO of Innovia Group.

Their diverse expertise and shared commitment to philanthropy are poised to make a lasting impact on the communities they serve. As they embark on this journey together, their efforts will undoubtedly support and amplify the Foundation's mission to make Cumbria a better place for all its residents.
