Coffman Engineers Unveils New Board Director And Senior VP Promotions
Coffman Engineers, Inc. (Coffman), a renowned multidiscipline engineering consulting firm, recently unveiled significant leadership changes following its annual shareholders' meeting on March 23. The firm announced the appointment of a new board director, the re-election of two board members, the introduction of seven new shareholders, and the promotion of three individuals to senior vice president positions.
Ben Momblow, PE, an Anchorage-based principal at Coffman, has been elected as a new board director. His extensive experience in operations roles across Honolulu and Anchorage, coupled with his active participation in various corporate committees, positions him as a valuable addition to the board. "Ben brings a thoughtful business perspective...and serves on various corporate committees. His broad view of Coffman, commitment to our culture, and inquisitive nature will make Coffman a better place. In addition to Momblow's election, Senior VP Jeff Gries, PE, and Chief Operating Officer Chad Heimbigner, PE, were re-elected to the board, ensuring continuity and experienced leadership.
The shareholders' meeting also saw the election of seven new shareholders who are set to bring diverse expertise and leadership to Coffman. These include Jon Arenz, PE; Skip Bourgeois; Justin Freeman, PE; Soo Loewen, PE; Carston Mortenson, PE; Brian Salyers, PE; and Mitch Zafer, PE. Each of these individuals represents different engineering disciplines and strategic markets crucial for Coffman's growth and client support.

The newly elected shareholders bring a wealth of experience from various sectors. For instance, Jon Arenz is the Senior Civil Engineering Discipline Manager in Coffman’s San Diego office with expertise in land development and federal design-build projects. Justin Freeman leads the companywide initiative on Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS) and Hydrogen. Soo Loewen manages electrical engineering projects across multiple sectors from Coffman’s Denver office.
Additionally, Coffman announced the promotion of three new senior vice presidents: Eric Apolenis, PE; Scott Twele, PE; and Canaan Bontadelli, PE. These individuals will manage the Southeast Region, Southwest Region, and Rocky Mountain Region respectively.
