CEVA Logistics Debuts Sustainable Warehouse In Sydney, Aiming For Eco-Friendly Operations
In a significant development for Western Sydney's logistics sector, CEVA Logistics has inaugurated its new 34,000-square-meter facility within the Aspect Industrial Estate, located in the Mamre Road precinct. This strategic move is set to bolster the local economy through enhanced infrastructure and collaborative efforts between public and private sectors. The warehouse, positioned near the upcoming Western Sydney Airport and accessible via major transportation routes like the M4 and M7 motorways, is designed to support the burgeoning business growth in the technology and healthcare industries, particularly within New South Wales.
Michael Harich, the head of contract logistics for CEVA Logistics in Australia and New Zealand, emphasized the company's commitment to local investment and sustainable logistics expansion. "With our new facility in Kemps Creek, we're not only investing in the region but also reinforcing our dedication to sustainable operations," Harich stated. This initiative aligns with CEVA's goal to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, as part of its affiliation with the CMA CGM Group.

The Kemps Creek warehouse incorporates several eco-friendly features, including 1,510 solar panels for an 830kW photovoltaic system complemented by battery storage, translucent roofing for natural light, LED lighting throughout, electric vehicle charging stations, and rainwater harvesting systems. These elements underscore CEVA's approach to reducing the environmental footprint of its logistics and supply chain operations.
Mirvac's Aspect Industrial Estate spans 56 hectares and marks a significant milestone as the first project approved under the new planning regime for employment uses in the Mamre Road precinct. The site developer anticipates that Aspect will generate over 500 construction jobs and 1,200 operational positions throughout its development phase. Richard Seddon, Mirvac's CEO of Investments, highlighted the project's contribution to Western Sydney's economic growth and community support.
