Bugatti Collaborates With Banque Alimentaire To Support Alsace's Community

Bugatti, the esteemed automotive manufacturer, has recently announced its collaboration with Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin, a leading food bank in the Molsheim area. This partnership underscores Bugatti's longstanding commitment to supporting and nurturing relationships within its birthplace, Alsace. The initiative follows Bugatti's previous engagement with Semeurs d’Étoiles, a charity focused on the wellbeing of hospitalized children and their families. By connecting with Banque Alimentaire, Bugatti aims to contribute significantly to the fight against food insecurity and waste while promoting social inclusion through employment opportunities.

Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin is part of a nationwide network comprising 79 local food banks across France. It plays a pivotal role in collecting, organizing, and distributing donated food and goods to 120 partner associations within the Bas-Rhin region. These efforts directly support individuals and families facing precarious situations. The charity's operations are supported by a mix of in-house employees, volunteers, and participants in government social inclusion programs.

In a gesture extending beyond financial support, Bugatti has committed not only resources but also the time of its employees to the cause. Four team members from Bugatti dedicated an entire day to assist with the food bank's daily operations. Their activities ranged from collecting donations from local supermarkets to sorting and preparing goods for distribution. They also engaged in delivering these items to partner associations across the region and even assisted in preparing meals for the charity's staff using donated supermarket goods.

This hands-on involvement provided the Bugatti team with invaluable insights into the day-to-day challenges faced by those working to combat food insecurity. It also highlighted the importance of volunteerism and community engagement in addressing broader societal issues such as food waste.

Bugatti President Christophe Piochon visited the volunteers, expressing his pride in their commitment. "We are fully committed to using the resources we have at our disposal to make a positive impact on our local community," Piochon stated. He emphasized that even a single day of volunteering can significantly support Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin's efforts against food insecurity and waste.

Jean Serrats, President of Banque Alimentaire du Bas-Rhin, expressed his gratitude towards Bugatti for their support. He highlighted the growing need for assistance as both the number of beneficiaries and partner associations continue to increase. "The support of our partners is therefore essential for us to pursue and carry out our vital commitment," Serrats remarked. Thanks to Bugatti's contribution, over 30,000 meals could be distributed by their partner associations throughout Bas-Rhin.

Bugatti's initiative is a testament to its ongoing dedication to community engagement, with plans for further local initiatives underway. This partnership not only aids those in immediate need but also raises awareness about the critical issues of food insecurity and waste, encouraging more collective action towards sustainable solutions.
