BMW Dealers Support Team Red, White, & Blue As Veterans Move American Flag 1,600 Miles From Philadelphia To Chicago
In a significant tribute to the valor and spirit of America's veterans, the Team Red, White & Blue (Team RWB) Old Glory Relay is set to mark its 10th anniversary with a monumental journey. Presented by BMW of North America, this 1,600-mile event, stretching from Philadelphia, PA, to Chicago, IL, aims to raise funds and awareness for Team RWB. This nonprofit organization is dedicated to aiding veterans in leading healthier lives through a blend of physical and virtual events, training, and programs.
The relay will kick off at a Philadelphia Phillies game on April 19, 2024, and will conclude in Chicago on May 18, 2024, in alignment with the Cubs Armed Forces Day game. Throughout this month-long event, participants will relay a single American flag across the miles. This flag, provided by Allegiance Flag Supply, carries the honor of being flown by Army special operations during Operation Inherent Resolve missions in Iraq and Syria. Accompanying the participants will be a custom-designed BMW X7, serving as the official vehicle for the relay.

Mike Erwin, Executive Director of Team RWB, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming relay. "The 2024 Old Glory Relay promises to inspire and showcase on the strength and grit of America's veterans. BMW's support for the relay underscores a deep-seated bond between BMW and the military community," he stated.
As part of the event's activities, rally stop events will be hosted in partnership with local BMW Centers. These stops are designed to foster community engagement and reflection on the significance of the journey. Moreover, throughout May, BMW Centers in the Central and Southern Regions have pledged to donate $25 for each new vehicle sold.
Broderick McKinney, Vice President of the Central Region for BMW of North America, highlighted the importance of their partnership with Team RWB. "Celebrating our ongoing partnership with Team RWB fills us with immense pride. Through this collaboration, we are committed to empowering veterans and ensuring they thrive," he remarked.
The Old Glory Relay is open to anyone wishing to honor America's veterans and the values they stand for. Participants have the option to run, walk, ruck, or cycle with the flag for a segment of the journey or join virtually from any location. Additionally, exclusive merchandise including a limited edition t-shirt and water bottle is available for purchase.
