The 2024 World Car Finals, energized by Brembo, culminated at the New York International Auto Show, unveiling the victors across six distinguished categories. The BMW 5 Series / i5 clinched the title of the 2024 World Luxury Car, marking a significant milestone as BMW's ninth accolade in the history of the World Car Awards. The BMW 5 Series / i5 emerged victorious from an initial roster of thirteen global contenders, ultimately outpacing finalists such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV. Criteria for the World Luxury Car category include a minimum annual production volume of 5,000 units, luxury-car level pricing in primary markets, and availability in at least two major markets on two different continents from January 1, 2023, to March 30, 2024.
