AI Optimization By BluWave-ai And Envari Achieves 95% Electrification Of School Bus Fleet
In a significant stride towards sustainable transportation, BluWave-ai and Envari Energy Solutions have unveiled the outcomes of their pioneering project aimed at electrifying a Canadian school bus operator's fleet. The collaboration seeks to transition the fleet to zero-emission vehicles, setting an ambitious target of incorporating 300 battery electric school buses by 2026 and achieving 95% fleet electrification by 2040. Envari is at the forefront, offering engineering and project management expertise to facilitate this green transition.
Utilizing a digital twin for simulation, BluWave-ai explored various scenarios to evaluate the performance of an all-electric bus fleet. This innovative approach allowed for the identification of optimal equipment combinations, vehicle route assignments, and charging strategies. Remarkably, the findings revealed that electric buses are capable of servicing 95% of current routes, even under extreme weather conditions as low as -20°C. Moreover, BluWave-ai's adaptively optimized charging strategy promises to significantly reduce depot peak charging loads by up to five times, leading to a substantial 60% cut in infrastructure costs associated with electrification.

The project not only showcases a potential 15-fold reduction in emissions when compared to traditional diesel fleets but also highlights a notable decrease in noise pollution, ranging between 6-14dB. The EV Fleet Orchestrator, instrumental in the digital twin simulation, stands ready for live deployment. This rollout will coincide with the establishment of charging infrastructure and the introduction of electric buses into service.
Devashish Paul, CEO of BluWave-ai, emphasized the global applicability of this solution for school bus fleets, especially in light of increasing financial support for clean school bus initiatives. The BluWave-ai EV Fleet Orchestrator's flexibility and adaptability make it a viable option across various locales. Its effectiveness is backed by a comprehensive 7-year global dataset encompassing over 15 billion records.
This collaboration between BluWave-ai and Envari Energy Solutions not only marks a significant advancement in the electrification of transportation but also sets a sustainable example for school bus operators worldwide. With its potential to reduce emissions drastically and cut down on noise pollution, this project paves the way for a cleaner, quieter future in school transportation.
